Get Involved
Want to get involved? The LPNA has established several “working groups” to allow for greater community participation in governance and decision making. There are numerous ways you can get involved and help out. Fill out the contact form to contact the chair of the working group you are interested in.
Government and Community Liaison
The Government and Community Liaison Working Group works to cooperate and communicate with governmental agencies and other organizations in matters affecting the neighborhood. We have subcommittees for the following:
-
Brooks Global and Lindley Elementary School Oversight
-
Lindley Park Neighborhood Plan Update
-
Public Safety / GPD Liaison
-
Short Term Rentals
-
Zoning and Development Team
Events and Celebrations
The Events and Celebrations Working Group organizes events that help create a vibrant neighborhood. Lindley Park hosts a variety of events each year and we can always use some extra help.
Please contact the event coordinator if you wish to help with set up or clean up, games/activities, music, etc
Healthy Neighborhoods
The purpose of the Healthy Neighborhood Working Group is to create, maintain and enhance a more sustainable and healthy community. Much of this is focused on keeping our many green spaces clean and our park looking nice.
Park Workdays are the first Saturday of the month.
You could also help maintain a small area of the park separately. Or maybe you're interested in helping with the flower beds at Spring Garden and Lindell/WIllowbrook, or Lindell and Walker.
Communications
The Communications Working Group works to establish and promote communication networks to inform neighbors on issues of interest. This group is responsible for Columns, the LPNA newsletter; website; email; social media; and other communications. Help may be needed in publishing the newsletter: writing, editing, helping with ads; managing social media; or manning an LPNA table at events.
Read more about these groups in the LPNA bylaws.
